Overview
Sharps Workplace Services was entrusted by David Morris London, a world-renowned fine jeweller, to support a high-profile exhibition at the historic Tower of London. With only a one-hour setup window between public closing and guest arrival, our team executed a precise and time-critical operation. The relocation included delivery, setup, and retrieval of delicate exhibition equipment, with added logistical complexities due to the heritage venue.
Project Scope
- Event Location: Tower of London
- Setup Window: One hour between public closure and guest arrival
Services Delivered:
- Project consultancy and logistics planning
- Equipment retrieval from Sharps storage and the client’s HQ
- Timed delivery and installation at venue
- Dismantling and post-event retrieval
- Secure storage and returns
- Facilities management support
Pre-Move Planning
A strategic planning meeting was held between our Prince2-certified Project Manager and the client’s event planning team. All logistical elements were reviewed, including:
- Specific items required from Sharps’ storage
- Equipment collection from the client’s central London HQ
- Venue access limitations and time constraints
- Post-event dismantling and return procedures
The entire team received a detailed briefing to ensure awareness of timelines, site access conditions, and item handling protocols.
Execution & On-Site Logistics
- All equipment was retrieved and loaded from storage, and collected from HQ during the working day
- The team arrived at the Tower of London ahead of schedule to maximise setup time
- Despite the constraints of the heritage venue, all items were carried up multiple flights of stairs and installed within the critical one-hour window
- The team remained on-site late into the evening to dismantle and retrieve equipment following the event
- Items were returned securely to the Sharps storage facility and client HQ the following day
Results
- Exhibition installed and removed flawlessly within critical time constraints
- Zero disruption to event operations or guest experience
- All logistics completed with care for venue guidelines and display item sensitivity
- Continued partnership with the client following successful project delivery
