Client Requirements

Argyll, a distinguished provider of serviced workspaces, commissioned the comprehensive installation of 160 workstations and lounge furniture for a newly designated floor in their existing facility in Chelsea, London. The client had pre-existing furniture across various Central London locations, which required dismantling, collection, relocation, reassembly, and installation at the new site within a strict five-day timeframe, ensuring the floor was operational and ready to accommodate clients.

Following the completion of the setup, our team facilitated the seamless relocation of clients from other Argyll centres into the newly established space. After a detailed project discussion between our team and Argyll’s project and procurement department, we determined that the relocation process would be best executed over the course of one week. The process commenced with the dismantling and collection of the necessary furniture on Monday, followed by a smooth transition to the on-site fitting team at the new workspace. This systematic approach continued throughout the week, ensuring that all 160 workstations, including desks, chairs, pedestals, storage solutions, and lounge furniture, were precisely installed according to the floor plans, enabling a flawless transition for the clients to move into their new environment.

Project Solution

Throughout the duration of the project, our project manager maintained daily communication with Argyll to monitor the progress of the furniture collection and relocation from various locations. A comprehensive briefing was held with all supervisors and staff prior to the commencement of the project to ensure a unified understanding of the plan and objectives.

The project involved multiple teams working concurrently. These included teams responsible for dismantling furniture at existing centres, teams and trucks tasked with loading and delivering the items to the new location, and a dedicated fitting team on-site at the new centre responsible for receiving, installing, and arranging the furniture according to the precise floor plans.

In parallel, specified teams managed the client relocation process, which was particularly important as clients were scheduled to move in on the final day of the installation. This required meticulous planning and execution. Teams were tasked with disconnecting, wrapping, and packing all IT equipment into crates, sequence packing of filing systems, and packing any personal belongings as required in preparation for the move and subsequent setup.

During the relocation, several challenges arose, including obstacles from the building team, where desking and furniture already in place was unexpectedly moved to access areas they needed to return to. Additionally, the actual quantity of furniture at the collection sites varied from initial projections, resulting in slight delays as we had to visit additional centres to ensure all 160 workstations were ready. Despite these unforeseen complications, Sharps Move Solutions demonstrated flexibility and efficiency, swiftly adapting to the changes and ensuring the project remained on track to meet its stringent deadline.
